Talk to yourself like someone you love…

This is my drum, his name is “latido” referrin

This is my drum, his name is “latido” referring to the heartbeat of the Earth.

To build on a connection to a drum is something so personal and profound. Like a meeting of souls who over time grow together.

I had to leave my drum behind when I went to Thailand during the pandemic. It was a risky (almost impossible) time for travel and so I choose to only take one instrument.

In the years we’ve been apart, I’ve dreamt of his resonance, longed for the moment to reconnect.

I’ve played other drums, even built one with my bare hands, but nothing ever compared to the resonance of Latido.

This drum carries in its skin all the infinite memories of my entire journey here in Peru from when it once began in 2015.

Then finally when the moment came to reunite… he was gone.

I don’t understand, nor do my friends who stored my things for me. It seems to be an inexplicable mystery. One I’m having difficulty with accepting.

It makes me wonder what the meaning of it is. Why would I loose literally the one thing I actually cared to retrieve from the countless boxes I had stored?

I’m doing my best to let go, which is why I’m writing this post.

I hope that whoever took it, will feel the same love I have for this drum…

One of the most beautiful feelings I know, is to be surrounded by my Ayllu, my community.

To have been removed from that for so long, and to then return… Ufff…

Let’s just say it’s given me a lot of new insights in certain understandings I already had.

I feel like these are the people who’ve seen me grow up. Literally like family. I mean, in a way they’ve seen more of the nuances than my actual family.

To recognize that and honor that, to me, is priceless.

Similar to family, we’ve had our disagreements, our arguments and challenges.

But in the end it’s our love and dedication that allows us to transcend those difficulties and continue to grow together.

That realness and depth is what brightens my heart like nothing else can.

Infinitely grateful.

Laura found true love after doing DARE TO LOVE course with me in 2020. Her journey is a very unique one as her blockage in the heart manifested as breast cancer.

She discovered the cancer while doing the course.

The support of the group as well as the deep inner work she was doing on her patterns in love and intimacy helped her realize the deeper meaning of the cancer and therefore pushed her even deeper into the incredible healing journey she was on.

She understood the places she had denied her desires, she recognized her self-love and sense of self-worth were truly at the core of what had prevented her to manifest her wish to share life with a man who truly prioritizes her and their love.

When all was healed… the man of her dreams swept her of her feet!

It’s scary to love so incredibly deep. It often

It’s scary to love so incredibly deep.

It often makes me wonder if this is at the root of sabotaging love.

In all the years I worked with countless of clients, it never seemed there was an absence of desire. Rather a fear for having it all.

A fear of losing it once you have it.

A fear of loving so greatly, the vulnerability will be so confronting to the ego, that instead we come up with narratives that are so clever, we manage to trick ourselves into believing it.

I see it all around me, all the time.

Narratives that convince you XYZ is more important than love, or that there are no good men around.

Narratives that blame the external or blame yourself.

However you frame it, it doesn’t matter, somehow we all do it. We all sabotage what we long for most.

It’s the mystery of life; the thing that makes love so fascinating.

Peru, you have my heart and always will. 💗

The whispers I received from Ausangate were in a way so obvious, but funny enough I never considered it an option.

The Apu told me there is no need to give up any of the dreams I once held while living here.

✨The dream of building my own little casita with Chakana shaped windows.

✨The dream of spending the rest of my life here.

✨The dream of continuing to learn from the ancient ways of the Andes.

✨The dream to bring people here, and be the bridge between worlds.

When I left during the pandemic to be with Ruwan, I sacrificed everything for true love. Now that we are a family, my primal self wants to root and create a safe container for our children.

I’ve seen what 5 years living at altitude did to my health. My pregnancy and living in the Thai humidity helped me recover from that.

I don’t believe my body is made to permanently live this high (nor Ruwans tropical genes, obviously).

However… there is absolutely no way I can let go of this deep connection I have here and the sense of belonging that is too obvious to ignore.

Life is inspiring us to expand our vision. Allow ALL our dreams to exist simultaneously. Most likely we will root in various places and cycle between them.

How, what, when, I don’t know…

But I feel guided and blessed by the Great Spirit in ways that are impossible to put into words.

I’m infinitely humbled by the power of these mountains and the ways in which my heart has been broken open even more.

The ground beneath us is moving. We’ve received direction and a shift in perception as to what our next step in life will be.

My faith, my trust are beyond what I’ve ever felt before 💗⚡️

The first time I went to make an offering at the foot of this majestic mountain - Apu Ausangate, the King of the valley - was 7 years ago.

It is truly one of the most powerful places I’ve visited in my life. And since I keep coming back (this was my 4th pilgrimage) it feels as though our relationship is growing.

This time, by far, was the most impactful.

For 3 days we were at an altitude of 4500m and higher, disconnected from the internet and so in tune with the present.

The day we hiked to make our offering, the sky was threatening to break into a storm.

Literally the moment I finished my flower mandala and shared my prayers with tears rolling down my cheeks, I lit the Palo Santo, while @the_brint was playing gorgeous tunes on his hand pan…

As a response the sky cleared. Completely.

The feeling of receiving an answer from the Divine in this form… is… I have no words.

It’s so profound, so clear, so direct.

All we have to do in moments like this, is open up and listen.

I’m in awe 🥹💗
